The imagination is a big thing, if people believe it or not. It's this part of your brain that does the dreams and stuff, or whatever the science teacher said. I may be no scientist, but when it comes to imagination, I'm what they call, 'The Girl That's In Her Own World'. The truth is, my world comes to life.

Okay, I think it's about time I introduce myself to you. My name is Hailey, and yes, it's a boring common name. I'm your average fifteen year old girl in this world. I have my ups and downs, but if you think about it, I guess that's a part of life, huh? (Well, mum says it is). However, unlike you lot, I have one thing wrong with me; my imagination comes to life, literally!

No, I'm not talking about those stupid theories people have when people have an imagination to begin with, no, what I'm talking about, is when something comes to life, kind of like that movie when the man builds that guy? You know, when he comes to life by a flash of lightening? Well, you know what I mean, that's what it's like.

You see, it all started when I was very young, around about seven years old. I was sitting alone at lunch, as usual. Of course, my peaceful days are always interrupted with a person. Her name is Clair, she was the bully of me, (and yes, she still is…). Anyway, she came up me, "Hey, what's your problem, weirdo!" Now, I'll usually ignore the remarks she gives me, but for some reason I couldn't that day; something pushed me to the limit. In my mind, all I could hear and see was some sort of sword of something along those lines, (I have a horrible memory), and poof! It came into my hand; a sword was in my hands! She ran away after that happened though…

Now you see my problem here? I can't use my imagination, strange things will happen. I wish it didn't though, especially when I'm writing. It's the worst; the page itself comes to life, not to mention the characters. Agh, I remember this one time a dragon came out and burnt my room, and mum was questioning me about the dragon, (I'm actually a little bit surprised that she didn't care that the fact that my room was burnt to the bone). Anyway, I told her, and you know what she said? She said this, "Good luck to you then…" Seriously?! She is supposed to be my mother, not some stranger! Oh good grief…

I glance at my calendar. It's Monday 28th January. That's right, I start high school today. Apparently, I'm going to this school called Second Road Academy. The name itself sounds weird, if not the academy bit, then the name of it. It sounds as if someone made it up in five minutes, placed it on a billboard, and announced it as the best school of the century or something. It's one of those schools where the gifted go to…Heh, I don't have a talent at all, but to the school, playing the piano is somewhat a talent. Somewhat, but how would I know, this is my first time at an actual school; I was home-schooled all my life you see.

Also, this school has this weird uniform system. They say, that the senior girls wear the blue ties, and the juniors red, it's the same with the boys. But it doesn't stop there. Instead of having one type of skirt, they have three lengths, mini, knee length and the ones that go up to your feet. Now, if I don't know any better, the long ones means that you're part of a gang; you're a Yankee, the knee length skirts means that you're either a teacher's pet or a smartass, and the mini skirt means that you're one of the sluts in the school. Knowing this fact, I decided that I'll make my own skirt length. So, last night I decided this, I'll make the knee length skirt five centimetres of the knee. Well, all I have to say is this, it tell people that I'm your average teenage girl.

Placing my shoes on my feet, I strolled down the stairs, hair bouncing as I did so. I'm a red head, no one can miss me, (I wish they did.). Anyway, I made my into the kitchen, and the first thing I see is a note. I raised a brow, and started to read it.

It went like this:

Hailey,
Good morning! I'm sorry I'm not here now; I had this urgent call from the work employees. I'm so sorry I'm not there to see you off, seriously! I'm so proud of you for taking this step into high school, Hail Stone! Good luck for today, and make sure your brother is alright as well before going. You know how he feels when no one tells him where anyone is, (and make sure he gets something to eat too…).
Well, good luck Hailey!
Love,
Mum. xoxo
P.S Make sure your brother is okay, he's sick you know…

I read the note over once more, feeling rather annoyed. She could've at least dropped me off at this school; I have no idea where it is! I sigh in frustration, why doesn't she tell me these things?

Also, my brother is always ill; he's never one hundred precent. He's my twin, or as he puts it, the Peter, (that's his name), in girl version! I prefer him when his sick, because when he's fine enough to be up and about, he's always teasing me. Although, he's always sick, and I wish he wasn't. You see, he falls sick quite easily, and sometimes it isn't the best sight to see.

I make my way up the stairs, and into Peter's room. I had this breakfast type thing on the food tray, something that's toast and some sort of cereal. I open the door, only to see Peter on his side, moaning in pain. I grin cheerfully, "Morning, Pete! How're feeling?"
Peter turned to face me, smiling weakly, "Not too good…" I think he noticed the uniform, "Oh, we start school today, right?"
God, even when sick, he's always smiling. That puts me on the spot. However, I laugh, "I'll be going, you're staying home again! Man, I wish I could stay at home!"
"Yeah, but I wish I wasn't so weak all the time. Plus, I want to go to that school too with you, Hail…" He coughed, chuckling, "Hey, if you don't mind, can you imagine something for me?"
This is odd, "Yeah sure! What will you like, brother?!"
"A singing bird with some starry night sky?" Peter smiled at me.
I sigh, putting the tray down. Clicking my fingers only once, the night sky was in view in his room, with a bluebird singing in a tree. I smiled, "Hope this is alright…Now, mum says you gotta eat something."
He however, wasn't paying attention to me; he was paying all his concentration on the scenery. He smiled, "Thank you so much, Hailey…"
I smiled warmly at him, "You're very welcome." I glanced at the clock, eyes going wide. 7am?! Where did the time go?! "I have to go Peter! I'm so sorry!"
As I reached the door, Peter whispered, "Hailey?" I turned, and he smirked, "Don't die today…" I smiled, and locked the door, rushing down the stairs. Man, school life sucks.

I've just realised something, I have no idea where I'm going. I should've have asked him, stupid brain! Can't you ever think for me?! Well, on the plus side of things, it's a nice day today. In fact, I think this is the best weather we've had in such a long time, not with the storms and hail we get.

Okay, I think it's about time I tell you why I'm called Hail Stone. You see, my mum thinks I'm like a storm rolling over, but then again, she also says that I'm a sunflower, (God knows why though). However, I think the real reason is that she wants a nickname for me or something, so Hail it is then. When I was six, mum told me that the first four letters of my name makes a word, at the time I thought it was the best thing ever, but now it's seriously starting to get on my nerves.

Hey, people from my school are walking on the same path. I might as well follow them, since I have no idea where I'm going. Most of the girls are wearing the miniskirts, a few, surprisingly, in the full length, and hardly in the knee length. Ha, I knew it! Oh yeah, I'm the man! Speaking of men, the boys here aren't all that bad. I mean, some of them could work on their image, (that's where my imagination comes in), but all in all, they're actually pretty good looking guys. Ah yes, the good old days of being me…

I arrived, but I don't like what I'm seeing. The building was so scary, like those ones in the horror films, not with its fence surrounding the area, then the fact that the building was old fashioned and huge, and I mean huge! I reckon we could fit my entire neighbourhood inside of this thing! (Okay, that was a little too far, but hey…). The schools name was on some type of sign thing, standing there proud and strong. Great…

I groan, "Is this it?"
I hear one of the girls behind me, "Hey, isn't that the new girl?!"
I smirk, turning to face them, "Yeah, you gotta problem?" I cross my arms over one another, feeling annoyed at everything.
Well, they fled, "It just as Clair said, she's so weird, like an alien!" They ran into the hall, laughing like a bunch of hyenas. However, unlike everyone that was going to the main hall, I was standing there, wondering if I was an alien.

If this is the school I'm stuck in for the next 40 something weeks or so, it's going to be Hell for me. I had no friends, have no idea on how I'm going to get home, and I feel abandoned. Great, I hope this is it, otherwise I'm going to blow my head off.

I have no idea how this happened, but some group of people ushered me into the hall, setting me in my place. When I turned to face them, they weren't there! Scratching my head, I start to listen to the principle, who was rambling on about some crap I don't understand.
Okay, I think it’s about time I introduce myself to you. My name is Hailey, and yes, it’s a boring common name. I’m your average fifteen year old girl in this world.
